From Peru, this chilli is thick fleshed and moderately hot.  Widely used in South American cuisine.  It has been said that if there was a chilli to taste like sunshine, this would be it.

From Peru, another popular chilli in Peruvian cuisine.  Whilst mild in heat, it is said to have a unique and complex flavour profile, which is smokey but fruity in flavour, with hints of blueberry.  Can’t wait to see this one grow.

Couldn’t resist this one.  Said to be like to the Australian Desert, this chilli is large and bright red, shaped like a heart.   Looking forward to launching some unique all Australian chilli sauces for this Australia Day.

From Thailand, this chilli has a sweet then citrus flavour with a good level of heat.  Typically used in Thai and Vietnamese cuisine.

From Mexico, this is one of the most common chillis used in Mexican cuisine.  It has a tangy, fruity flavour with mild to moderate heat.  Commonly used in Harissa paste.  Guess what we will be doing with this?

From Mexico, this is probably the most popular chilli in the world, and for good reason.  It is a great chilli and so versatile. When ripe and smoked properly, it also becomes a Chipotle – something we will be doing ourselves this year.

A Mexican chilli, this is the most prolific chilli we’ve grown.  Big, thin skinned with full flavour and mild heat.  This chilli has a multitude of uses.

A Mexican chilli which is sweet, juicy and crunchy.  They are great pickled, so guess where you will find them in the Hot Chilli Mama store, yep under Pickles.

From India, this was once considered the hottest chilli in the world.  It has a sweet, fruity citrus taste which has a slow burn that lingers for a while.

From America, this is currently the hottest chilli in the world.  Whilst it is said that behind the heat it has a fruity flavour, it’s not easy to find given the heat of this chilli.  This chilli is not for the faint hearted and should be handled with extreme care.

From Hungary, this chilli has almost perfectly circular bright red fruit.  With a moderate heat like a Jalapeno, these little babies will be used to make Pickle Bombs this coming season.

From the Amazonas, this is cracker of chilli with a clean, intense heat and sweet flavour.  Once the hottest chilli in the world, it has a well deserved place in the hot sauce world.   A chilli not to be taken lightly.  We will be growing a range of these little babies this year.

From Italy, these chillis are seriously long with a good heat.  Great when dried to infuse heat into oils and vinegar.

From America, this chilli is more known for its shape than its taste, said to resemble a penis.  Yep, you read correctly, a penis.  Hence why it’s also known as the ‘penis pepper’.   We’ve grown this one for curiosity sake, now we need to work out what to do with it.  Keep it clean people.
